LaPorte, IN – The LaPorte County Symphony Orchestra (LCSO) will be presenting their second subscription concert of the 50th Anniversary season on Saturday, February 11, 7pm at the LaPorte High School Performing Arts Center. LCSO Music Director, Dr. Carolyn Watson, has invited the LaPorte High School Orchestra, under the direction of Elizabeth Cravens, and the LPHS Wind Ensemble, under the direction of Joseph Clark, to join the Orchestra for the second half of the performance. In addition, the LCSO’s Concertmaster, Tamara Stojanovic, will serve as soloist for the evening.
The concert program will include:
Rossini – Overture to The Barber of Seville (First performed on the LCSO’s premiere season.)
Nielsen – “Seven Dances” from Aladdin
INTERMISSION
The LPHS Orchestra and Wind Ensemble joins the LCSO for the second half.
Berlioz – Hungarian March
Ruo – Folk Songs for Orchestra (Tamara Stojanovic, Violin Soloist)
Sibelius – Finlandia (first performed on the LCSO’s premiere season)
This will be the LCSO’s first performance on the stage of the LPHS Performing Arts Center.
