Christine Predd Fiber Arts

I am a Fiber Artist using fabrics, wool, and other fibers to create art. Fabrics are layered and collaged, then stitched either by machine or hand. I also weave, and hand felt wool roving to create smaller art pieces. I use both commercial and self-dyed fabrics, as well as my own surface designed fabrics using a variety of techniques, as mono-printing, marbling, an others. My work is inspired by my reactions to the natural elements and everyday life experiences. I am especially drawn to trees and leaves which I often reference my works. My home studio faces the woods in my backyard which always brings me a sense of calm and perspective.
