The Yellowstone Trail

The Yellowstone Trail in Indiana is a historic auto route running through Indiana’s Cool North region. One of the first transcontinental automobile routes, it was established in the early 1900s to promote tourism to Yellowstone National Park. Though once a major highway, many sections now follow slower, less-traveled roads, offering a scenic and historic experience. You can follow the Yellowstone Trail through La Porte County, where it passes through the towns of Wanatah and Hanna.
