Thousands of spectators gather at the Washington Park Beach – Michigan City for the annual Grand Prix. Likewise, boat racing and water sports are staged on other lakes throughout the county. Because local sports are so important, historic Ames Field still stands proudly and hosts events other than Friday night high school football. We’ve even hosted marching band and drum corps competitions, drawing bands and spectators from all over the country. Golf courses are particularly scenic here, offering many levels of play.
